WellPoint Systems Announces First Quarter Results

CALGARY, May 25 /CNW/ - WellPoint Systems Inc. (TSXV: WPS) today
announces its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2007.
The Company recorded revenues of $4,923,051 in the first quarter of 2007, an
86% increase over the revenues of $2,636,212 generated in the first quarter of
2006. EBITDA(1) was $463,118 in the first quarter compared with $503,440 in
the comparable period of 2006. The Company incurred a net loss of $89,395 in
the quarter compared with net income of $128,950 in the first quarter of 2006.

"In the first quarter we met a number of key strategic objectives - the
highlight was completing an acquisition of iSoft which provided us with
valuable mining Intellectual Property," said Frank Stanford, CEO of WellPoint
Systems. "We continued to experience very substantial improvements in revenue
thanks in part to organic growth in Canada and the acquisition of IDEAS, which
we completed late in the first quarter of last year. EBITDA and net income
were ahead of budget. We anticipate that the launch of new high margin
products, like Energy Broker, will position us very well for the future."

Recent highlights:
- Revenues increased 86% to $4,923,051 in the first quarter of 2007, as
compared with $2,636,212 in 2006. This increase in revenues was the
result of strong organic growth in Canada and revenues from
IDEAS International Inc., acquired on March 10, 2006.
- EBITDA was $463,118 for the first quarter of 2007 compared to
$503,440 for the comparable period of 2006.
- There was a net loss of $89,395 for the quarter compared to net
income of $128,950 for the comparable quarter in 2006. Maintenance
revenues were up significantly because of a small number of Microsoft
support contracts extended by existing customers. The decrease in
gross margin is almost entirely attributable to the low margin
associated with these contracts.
- WellPoint announced that it had completed the certification processes
associated with Microsoft's Industry Builder program ("IBP") and, as
a result, now has its financial management product included on
Microsoft's Dynamics AX price lists in the United States, Canada and
the United Kingdom. The product, rebranded as "Energy Financial
Management for Microsoft Dynamics AX", is now available for resale by
Microsoft and the Microsoft partners within those specific regions
who choose to become certified in the marketing and implementation of
this solution.
- WellPoint announced it had completed its purchase of
iSoft Technologies (Pty) Ltd. ("iSoft") whose software applications
focus primarily on enterprise asset management, a concept especially
relevant to asset intensive industries like mining and energy.
WellPoint believes iSoft's MRO (maintenance, repair and operate)
module to be the most valuable mining intellectual property within
the Microsoft application suite.
- WellPoint announced it had formally initiated its channel program
with the announcement of two new strategic alliances, one with
ePartners Incorporated and the other with Deloitte and Touche. These
alliances will ensure the Company has the implementation capacity to
keep pace with the demand for WellPoint's products.

Progress toward WellPoint's 2007 key strategy points:
1. Exploit receptive U.S. & International markets.
- U.S. and International revenue represented 40% of total revenue
for the first quarter of 2007.
2. Pursue strategic acquisitions and partnerships that complement a
focused corporate strategy.
- WellPoint now owns the most valuable piece of mining intellectual
property in the Microsoft application world with the first quarter
2007 acquisition of iSoft.
- WellPoint continues to look for new acquisition opportunities.
3. Leverage a differentiated relationship with Microsoft.
- New member of Microsoft's elite Industry Builder Program - one of
only 9 global partners.
- Named to Microsoft's "Inner Circle" - the top 1% of the worldwide
Microsoft Business Solution partners.
