Columbus IT and Russian customer UNIMILK: 1300 users simultaneously is not a problem for Microsoft Dynamics AX

Source: www.columbusit.com -- UNIMILK Industrial Holding - one of the leaders of Russian and Ukrainian dairy and sour milk product market - has tested the scalability of its Microsoft Dynamics AX-based solution. Experimental testing held by experts of Columbus IT and Microsoft has proven that current UNIMILK IT solution copies able to cope with rapid load increase (2.3 times) and is able to support not less than 1,300 users simultaneously.

The need to test system's capability in UNIMILK was caused by current situation analysis and by future plans connected with substantial business expansion. Microsoft Dynamics AX-based sales and purchase management solution designed by Columbus IT for UNIMILK is now servicing 16 plants and company's branches. The system operates non-stop 24 hours a day supporting the work of over 460 users simultaneously.

UNIMILK management wanted to make sure that ERP solution used in the holding can cope with substantial load increase.

"It's important to know that technologies we use are able to keep pace with our business and to support its high rate of growth. Today solution designed by Columbus IT copes with the load but we need to be sure that the system would work effectively even if the quantity of operations will grow 3 to 5 times," said Andrey Beskhmelnitskiy, Director General of UNIMILK.

An experimental testing carried out by Columbus IT, UNIMILK and Microsoft experts was organized to ensure the ability of Microsoft Dynamics AX-based solution to service rapidly growing number of users effectively. The testing was held with support of Hewlett-Packard at HP European Performance Center (Germany) during 26 days.

The testing proved that IT solution installed at UNIMILK copes with two-three-fold load increase and can effectively service 1,300 users simultaneously. Herewith the system's operation speed and performance remain at normal level.

"Due to new ambitious business tasks of UNIMILK we got a confirmation of accuracy of functional and architectural solutions, which our specialists designed 2 years ago. In Russia and the CIS countries and worldwide you can hardly find many ERP projects with such high transactional load," said Andrey Lyskov, Business Development Director of Columbus IT. "Our continuous process of new possibilities investigation, development of new approaches and solutions in automation allows current and potential Columbus IT customers to focus on realization of their business projects without having to make a compromise with obsolete technologies and limited expertise".

"Microsoft Dynamics supports dynamic development of companies. These are not mere words. Projects like that realized by our Columbus IT colleagues is the best evidence of high performance, scalability and reliability of our solutions," Evgeniy Voronin, Director of Microsoft Business Solutions department, Microsoft Russia, pointed out.

"We became convinced that we've made the right choice when selected Columbus IT – a consultant that provided qualified help for us in supporting our business. For me it's very important that information solution created by a consultant operates without problems under any conditions and serves as a good tool supporting business management and its further development," Andrey Beskhmelnitskiy commented on the results of the testing.
