Microsoft's Dynamics Snap Is Made In Hyderabad
Dynamics Snap, a collection of software programs developed entirely in Hyderabad, enables information workers to coordinate and manage data in Microsoft Dynamics business management solutions using Microsoft Office 2003.
Friday, February 24, 2006: Microsoft has released Microsoft Dynamics Snap, a new collection of software programs that snap in to Microsoft Office 2003. The four new programs can significantly increase productivity by enabling Microsoft Office users to interact with Microsoft Dynamics business information as they create documents, collaborate and manage their calendar - all without leaving Microsoft Office.
Developed at the Microsoft India Development Centre (MIDC), Hyderabad, in six months, these programs enable information workers to easily coordinate and manage data in certain Microsoft Dynamics business management solutions using Microsoft Office 2003. These applications allow users to access business processes and data from business management solutions back-end applications like Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0 (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, directly from within certain Microsoft Office applications.
The first group of programs, available today, include -- Timesheet Management Snap-In, Vacation Management Snap-In and two flavours of a Business Data Lookup Snap-In -- one for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and the other for Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0.
Commenting on the product features, Satya Nadella, Microsoft corporate vice president, Microsoft business solutions group, said, "Users can simply open a task pane to locate and transfer business information seamlessly from Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft CRM into Word, Excel or Outlook. And it works the other way, too. For example, a user can create an Outlook appointment and automatically file a linked time entry in the Microsoft Dynamics AX database that tracks work schedules or vacations."
Rajiv Kumar, director, Microsoft business solutions group, MIDC, Hyderabad, said, "Microsoft Dynamics Snap is yet another example of the 'end to end' cutting edge product development taking place at MIDC. This has been an extremely exciting project for us and, in a short span of six months, we were able to conceptualise, develop and ship the product to customers and partners."
