MBS and Capgemini build on their relationship.

By Kevin Reed, Accountancy Age

Microsoft Business Solutions and Capgemini have formed an alliance to push forward Microsoft's business software to UK customers.

The deal focuses mainly on MBS' CRM and Axapta products, in a bid to gain faster - and more cost-effective - deployment of the products.

Capgemini expected to see 'significant demand' across all its target industries - and is currently working with customers in the Government and not-for-profit sector.

'We see working with Microsoft as an opportunity for our customers to purchase applications with a lower-cost entry point, faster deployment capabilities and quicker return on investment,' said Paul Guest, head of applied technologies, technology services, Capgemini.

'The Microsoft CRM product can be up and running in 30-60 days, which is crucial for companies with decreasing IT budgets and, paradoxically, more demands being made of IT.'

Jon Hughes, director MBS partner group, said: 'Capgemini brings expertise in customer business requirements, methodologies and a wealth of skilled people across technologies and geographies that will benefit Microsoft Business Solutions customers going forwards.'
