Wellpoint Systems retains leading investor relations firm

CALGARY, May 2 - WellPoint Systems Inc. ("WellPoint") (TSXV: WPS),
a leading provider of software and related services for managing critical
operations within the energy industry, today announced that it has retained
The Equicom Group Inc. ("Equicom") to provide the Company with strategic
investor relations and financial communications services.

Equicom provides strategic communications services to approximately 100
public companies across a diverse range of industries. Under the terms of the
agreement, WellPoint will pay Equicom a monthly retainer fee of $7,000 for
professional services. The initial contract term is 12 months. Neither Equicom
nor any of its principals has an ownership interest, directly or indirectly,
in WellPoint or its securities, and the Company has not granted Equicom or its
principals any right to acquire such an interest. Equicom is an employee-owned
firm whose principals include Barry Hildred, President and Jason Hogan,
Executive Vice President.
