thy:group goes to Australia for new managing director

A unanimous board of directors has appointed Flemming Idorf Beisner as Managing Director of the thy:group. Coming from his latest position as Business Group Director for Microsoft in Australia and New Zealand, Flemming Idorf Beisner is a natural choice to carry forward the thy:group’s close cooperation with Microsoft.

The planned transition to the next generation of thy:group leadership was assured when Flemming Idorf Beisner was appointed to take over the reins of the company with 150 employees. Selected from a tough field of more than 140 candidates, Beisner will take up his new role as Managing Director as soon as he and his family move back to Denmark. The position will be based in Kolding, Denmark, at the thy:group’s administrative headquarters there.

Before his posting as Business Group Director for Microsoft in Australia and New Zealand, Beisner was Sales Director at Damgaard Data, Country Manager for Damgaard/Navsion in Spain, and Manager for Navision in England. He thus knows the thy:group’s key partner from the inside out, and also has intimate knowledge of the market for Microsoft Dynamics AX, on which the thy:group bases its solutions.

The position of managing director is new for the thy:group and is a key part of a carefully planned senior management transition. Flemming Idorf Beisner will report to the board and owners and will, among other tasks, continue to implement the thy:group’s plans for growth both in Denmark and internationally. The transition will take place gradually over the next few years, and Egon Oestergard and Per Moeller, who started the company, will stay on as acting members of the board. Flemming Idorf Beisner will thus not be alone at the helm, but will have a very active board and shareholder’s group at his side. The thy:group has wished to appoint a highly visible leader who can manage and strengthen the decentralized autonomy that characterizes the thy:group’s companies. At the same time, the emphasis has been to find a “people manager” who can makes ambitious business plans operational – and take care of the organization as the business grows.
