Fullscope Releases Microsoft Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries Version 3.0 at Convergence 2006

As an ISV solution, Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries Version 3.0 supports Microsoft’s strategy to provide a compelling alternative to traditional enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications by using an industry-specific functionality approach. As an industry-packaged solution, Microsoft Dynamic AX for High Tech Industries can generate a faster rapid return on investment, with a lower total cost of ownership, to meet the dynamic demands of high tech companies in a global market while providing special attention to managing relationships between vendors, subcontractors and distributors.

New Features in Microsoft Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries Release 3.0

New functionality in Microsoft Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries Release 3.0 addresses production control, lot tracking, supply chain interface, planning, purchasing, sales order scheduling and industry-relevant reporting:

Supply Chain Interface/Collaboration – Includes additional packaged supply chain transaction sets enabling full collaboration with trading partners. New Transactions include: sending purchase order schedules to suppliers, updating purchase order line delivery data and tracking location to location inventory moves. Parameters are included for application to vendor operations, inter-company rules and error display.

Production Controls – Includes screens for the start lot, split lot, assembly lot and move lot functions that enable a faster manual entry option and automatically populates fields with default values. It supports operation-based pay points on bill of material (BOM) routings that can trigger payments owed to subcontractors and track the costs on all items going into an operation or good items coming out of an operation.

Lot Tracking – Includes enhanced functionality for assembly lots, where a single start lot operation can pull components from various lots simultaneous and track the forward and backward lot lineage of each unique component lot combination.

Purchasing – Features blanket purchase orders (PO) that can be set up by dollar value or by total quantity and generate automatic approvals. Version 3.0 supports multiple service items on a single PO, which simplifies the overall process by reducing the number of overall POs released and allowing each line to be received against independently.

Sales – Includes one-click credit checking and sales order holds, and support for selling items that contain royalty specific-coding.

Reporting – Includes a vendor performance On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) cube to measure vendor performance according to delivery dates and quantities against commit dates. A yield analysis OLAP cube measures yield by vendor, operation, item or lot. Reporting options track bookings, billings and backlog for customer sales orders.
