Watermark subsidiary MultiPlus will open an office in Shanghai. Two big deals that the company recently won with the Chinese shipbuilding organisations TTS Marine and TTS Bohai Machinery, are the catalyst for this taking place.
Watermark are implementation specialists in the field of Microsoft and SSA Global's ERP and CRM solutions. Watermark subsidiary, MultiPlus is the supplier of the MultiPlus ERP software, a solution specifically designed for the maritime industry. This will be the first office that Watermark has opened in China. Combining the Chinese office and a translation of the application into Chinese, Watermark can now offer local support to local customers.
Watermark's aim is to expand its business in China even further, since it is expected that in the long term 60-70% of all shipbuilding activity will be carried out in China. The opening of the new office fits in with the Watermark policy to continue to expand by way of autonomous growth and take-overs. In total ten people will be employed at the new office in Shanghai.
Tom Stolk, Watermark's CEO: "By focusing our efforts on a limited number of industries, we have substantial expertise in each one we operate in. The office in Shanghai will allow us to use our industry knowledge, in this case, of the maritime industry, in this part of the world."
Growth for Watermark
Watermark has grown considerably in the past few years. At the end of 2005, the company took over, amongst others, the Belgian Microsoft partner Industry Solutions, which offers branch-specific ERP solutions for project-steered production, trading and service businesses on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) and Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Axapta). In 2005, Watermark achieved a turnover of 55 million Euros with a healthy profitability.
