Columbus IT sells 2nd Axapta license to Tempur-Pedic, continues worldwide rollout.

USA – Columbus IT has started the second Axapta implementation project at Tempur-Pedic, and will automate the company's manufacturing facility in New Mexico.

Tempur-Pedic is an American company manufacturing and distributing Swedish Mattresses and Neck Pillows™. Products are currently sold in 60 countries under the Tempur-Pedic® and TEMPUR® brand names. World headquarters for Tempur-Pedic International Inc. are in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.

Tempur-Pedic has already one Microsoft Axapta installation and it faced the urgent need to find ERP-system for brand new manufacturing facility in New Mexico, which is scheduled to be live and running May of 2006. They needed the system which will duplicate the manufacturing processes that are currently in place in the Tempur-Pedic Virginia Manufacturing Plant and already automated by Columbus IT.

Tempur-Pedic decided to continue on Axapta for manufacturing because of the system's high level of flexibility in Tempur-Pedic's unique manufacturing processes. Once the decision was made for Axapta, Tempur-Pedic went to five MBS Axapta partner for data gathering and chose Columbus IT Partner for its depth of Axapta knowledge, resources, worldwide presence, as well as current relationship and successful work at the first project. Key factors considered by Tempur-Pedic which made the choice in favor of Columbus IT were: rapid implementation and system configuration to a “go-live” state; as well as Tempur-Pedic's current success with Microsoft Axapta and Columbus IT worldwide.

The New Mexico plant will run 30 concurrent Axapta users with 50 Shop Floor users.
