JACKSONVILLE, FL — ICS, a leading developer of wireless, mobile, RFID and WMS applications based in Jacksonville, FL, has acquired Connex, an emerging automated data collection (ADC) and RFID solution designed expressly for users of Microsoft Axapta enterprise software.

ICS acquired Connex from Anseris, Inc., a technology firm that is a certified reseller of Microsoft's Axapta enterprise software and an authorized agent for Evant's demand forecasting and replenishment solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

ICS will leverage Connex to extend it's rfsmart brand of wireless data collection and RFID solutions to companies who use Axapta enterprise software. The rfsmart brand, with more than 1,100 installations around the world, is well known as the leader in ADC and RFID solutions for users of JD Edwards enterprise software.

In pre-acquisition testing, the Axapta-specific integration and workflows of Connex proved to work seamlessly with the robust .NET architecture of the rfsmart foundation (base system). The result is a best-of-both-worlds solution: the proven and scalable design of rfsmart along with Axapta-specific transaction workflows, data access objects, and interfaces to Axapta database journals. This is the same technology strategy ICS employs in the JD Edwards data collection market.

Effective immediately, Connex will adopt the rfsmart brand name and be referred to as rfsmart for AXAPTA.
