WellPoint announces release date for first module within new integrated well life cycle portfolio
CALGARY - WellPoint Systems Inc. ("WellPoint") (TSX-V:WPS)
today announced the pending release of WellPoint Rig Scheduler (WRS), the
first in a series of modules that will make up the company's much anticipated
Requesting-Tracking-Scheduling (RTS) portfolio. Scheduled for general
availability on June 16th, 2005, WRS represents the second Microsoft Axapta-
based product to be released by the company in the past six months. For
WellPoint, this Axapta technology foundation represents an integrative
development platform that will ultimately serve to shift the onus of
application integration from the Oil & Gas company to the technology itself.
Designed primarily to optimize the scheduling process, WRS provides a
flexible framework that captures the entire range of oil well and rig
activity. The data driven color configuration allows multiple levels of user
to manage all of the tasks associated with the movement of locations. WRS is
completely configurable by the user and can be interfaced to any external
application. The application also provides the capacity to do comprehensive
filtering and perhaps most importantly of all, the ability to do flexible,
detailed reporting.
"The release of WRS reaffirms WellPoint's commitment to developing
products that are designed with our customers' current and future requirements
in mind," says Tom Mawhinney, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for
WellPoint Systems. "Oil & Gas companies have long been asking for a modular,
integrated approach to developing software applications and we are very
fortunate to possess both the vertical expertise and the technological
capability to be able to deliver on this request."
