The Harvard Drug Group to Implement Supply Chain Execution for Microsoft Axapta
ATLANTA, - Manhattan Associates® Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH - News), the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimization solutions, has signed The Harvard Drug Group, LLC, a leading drug distribution company, as a customer through its partnership in the Microsoft® Business Solutions-Axapta® Industry Builder initiative. Harvard Drug will utilize Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management solution for Windows, which includes warehouse management and transportation execution functionality. The deal was executed in conjunction with Winfosoft, a certified Microsoft Business Solutions partner.
Harvard Drug sought Manhattan Associates' Supply Chain Execution for Microsoft Axapta solution to improve track and trace capabilities, increase productivity and meet electronic pedigree requirements. Manhattan Associates' solutions extend the Microsoft Axapta business management suite for customers desiring superior supply chain execution and the deep functionality of its solutions capabilities.
"We were in final negotiations with SAP for their Business One product when Microsoft and Manhattan Associates announced their partnership," said Dwight Boothe, general manager and senior vice president of operations, Harvard Drug. "The leverage gained by combining the expertise of those two companies drove us to re-look at our initial decision. Once we saw the deep functionality of their combined solutions firsthand, we selected Manhattan Associates' Supply Chain Execution for Microsoft Axapta."
In order to comply with electronic pedigree regulations, Harvard Drug intends to implement this solution in a phased rollout across its entire distribution network. Harvard Drug will roll out Supply Chain Execution for Microsoft Axapta at its Indianapolis distribution center first and will then extend the rollout across its two other facilities. Additionally, its future plans include implementing RFID technology to further improve its track and trace capabilities.

Microsoft Axapta utilizes Manhattan Associates' .NET-based Warehouse Management and Transportation Execution solutions to synchronize real-time product movement and improve productivity within customers' manufacturing and distribution operations. As part of the Industry Builder Initiative, these solutions are available to be marketed by more than 1,160 channel partners globally.
