Axapta Knowledge Village Group Features

The Axapta Knowledge Village enables users and implementation partners to communicate with each other. The main objective of the group is to "Share the knowledge on Axapta".

Yahoo Groups provides a perfect forum for realizing this collaboration between different people.
Let us have look at the features provided.

On the group's home page we find the following sections:
Home
Messages
Chat
Files
Photos
Links
Polls
Database
Calendar

Home: Open or Return to the group's Home page.

Messages:
Provides an overview of all recent messages.
Enables members to post a message, to search the archives for messages or to Go directly to a message.

Chat:
Enables members to "chat" with each other. Yahoo uses their own chat software.

Files:
Members can upload and download files related to Axapta.
The files section contains the folders: Members, Microsoft Business Solutions and Partners.
The name of the folder identifies the origin of the documents.

Photos:
Although sharing all kinds of photos or albums is possible, here the intented use is for publishing the personal photos of members. Nothing more.

Links/Bookmarks:
The folders in this section are predefined by the group owner and self-explaining.
Members can create links to other web pages using bookmarks in one of these folders.

Database:
Databases are not really user friendly and because of that almost not used.
A job database is provided by the group owner to decrease the number of job postings on the group. When Yahoo HotJobs [http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/] becomes a Group Features the database will be removed.

Polls:
Enables members to enter their vote on questions issued by the group owner or its moderators.
Feature is enabled but not yet used. Suggestions for inquiries are welcome.

Calendar:
The calendar enables members to register their company events, of course related to Axapta, and share them with the group. Especially partners can benefit from the calendar in promoting their events to all group members.
